Christmas fishing gift

Fished Trent River, New Bern NC, Fishing partner and I caught 4 bass. 2 around 2.5 lbs and 2 smaller. No bigg'uns but still enjoyed the trip. Has been nice weather here last few days, maybe I can get in another day before it turns back cold. Caught them on jerkbait and rattletraps!

Don't know of many wives who actually LIKE having their husbands underfoot all week-
end; not just from my own experience, but from that of two brothers and three friends ! Try
to make a deal; save your indoor
jobs for foul weather, and go out/get home early in fair weather so that you can do both !

Two friends, Fred and Barney,
have been planning a muskie-fishing trip for weeks, but hit a
snag the night before the trip !
Fred calls him and tells him that the wife insists on coming along, which means she'll also have her toy poodle in the boat ! Barney
asks him how are they gonna
fish, as the boat will be too crowded and the dog is too
excitable ! Fred suggests that Barney leave early in his boat,
and that he'll meet him at the
lake as soon as he can get
there; they can use their new walkie-talkies to keep in touch
and share information ! Next
day, Fred arrives a little later than usual and launches his boat, but no Barney in sight; gets on the mike and asks where he is and if he's caught anything yet ! They trade some info and decide to each try different sides of a
long point where they've had
some luck before ! Two hours
later, after trying many different lures and colors, they check in
again; just as he picks up the
mike, Fred gets a strike and
hauls in a 10-lb. muskie !
When Barney asks why he was
cut off so abruptly, he's told that not only did his buddy haul in a nice one, but the damned dog
got all excited, jumped all over
the bow and fell in ! When the
dog fell in, he was grabbed by
a huge muskie and
disappeared ! After a long pause, Barney comes back with - "Fred !
