Hi guys... I’d like to use a fluorocarbon leader while fishing but it seems to me the knot or however you connect it to the main fishing line will interfere with casting? Am I wrong here? If you tie on a swivel, it will get hung up on the top pole eye. I watch many videos of experienced fisherman and they all talk about using the fluorocarbon leader, some leaders 10’ long, but never seen it demonstrated or tell how it’s rigged. What knot is used? Thanks.
Alberto knot. Use it all the time and works great. Cast real well with spinning. You want the leader approx. as long as your rod so you don't reel the knot on to the spool.
Several different knots, check out YouTube and find the one that you like best. I like the FG, but the double uni is easier to tie!

If you are using braid line, use the FB knot. It is very small and passes thru the guides without notice. If using mono, use a double uniknot.
Several types of knots will work and slide through the guides smoothly. I personally use the Albright Special and find it quick, relatively easy to tie, strong, and it slides through the guides without getting caught up. It's a small, strong knot that's not difficult to tie. Just make sure to wrap the braid around the Flouro leader plenty of times. I personally use about 11 wraps on small diameter braid and Flouro (10-15 lb braid and 8-12 lb Flouro). Good Luck!

I use the Albright knot. To make it more guide friendly, when tieing the knot after the first set of wraps around leader and its tag end, put 2 more wraps between the leader and the tag end, then finish the knot normally. Cut the tag end close as possible, smooth the knot by rubbing with thumb and finger. The 2 extra wraps covers the tag end and makes a smooth taper into the knot. I never h as ve the knot catch in the guide, or a problem if wound onto the reel. My buddy uses 25-30 ft leaders and has no problem even with micro guides. Takes a little practice to get it right, but it is an easy knot to tie. Fish on forever. DEEJAY
