The thread I assume you mean. Because we covered this topic awhile back. Plus Howard looks like a newbie here on the stage.

So welcome Howard, care to tell us where you are located?

Best bet Howard is to go back through the post and look for the topic fish finder or go to the search section and type in fish finder.

Thanks for letting us know your local. Please up date your user profile so others will know as well.

From the UTube videos, the Salt water calls worked pretty good, but not so good on the Fresh water.
Don't know if the guy was honest on the video. LOL Seemed to be, but you never know. At $70 to $100, I would want to see it for myself, but that's just me. I did read the warranty statement. Would make me tempted to use vaseline on the ORing to insure it sealed good.

Checked it out - On sale for $75.00. That's what I need definitely. Since I'm frugal maybe purchase it for $7.50.

We know that buzzbaits, jerk baits and poppers work by attracting fish with noise, so why not a fish caller?
But it's far too expensive for me when I can use a buzzbait, jerk bait or popper to do the same thing for just a couple of bucks. And I'm not sure that fish will travel very far to investigate noise so if they're not already in the area they probably won't show up anyway. Chumming is probably cheaper and more effective, where it's legal.

2 weeks ago Livingston was giving the fish caller away with lure package specials. I was at the sight to purchase 2 musky lures and my purchase included the free fish caller. I intend to try it ice fishing and will post my results once we have safe ice. It appears to be well built and came with cisco sounds loaded. You can purchase additional sound cartridges for $10.95 each. If I'm happy with results I will purchase the minnow cartridge. I have had good results in the past with their EBT lures.

My Fish Call response. I am 72 years old and fished in S.C. most of my life. Fished in other states and other parts of the world while in the Army. Retired Army and State Job. I have seen all types, .makes and models of Fish Calls. Sears sold them for a while, with Ted Williams name like their Shot guns. sears also had a TR V11 call. There is a genuinely Amish Crafted Fish Call. it looks like a Deer Grunt Tube Call. TACTIBITE ELECTRONIC Fish Call is the latest. I have seen some of the weirdest working fish calls. Most have gone to the where ever they go. I have talked with people and watched them use them. I did not see anyone improve their catch from using a fish call. If all the people that fish had bought a call from Sears. They would still be in business. I am addicted to fishing tackle and I almost bought one on e-bay just cause I do not have one. A-men. I will be fishing Christmas afternoon if my wife let's me. Merry Christmas, BE SAFE...

I'm kinda curious as to whether a fish caller works or not. How does anyone know unless everyone catches fish every time. At what point do you say it doesn't work? Once? Twice? 100 times? Because you KNOW that it won't produce fish every time and the times it does could just be due to your own skill. Seriously, does anyone want to admit that a $100 electronic gizmo is better than they could ever hope to be?
Take a moment and think about it.

Doc, I tend to agree with you. the best "Fish Caller" I know of for Salt Water is to follow the Gulls! When they are all bunched up and diving they are on bait fish. Those are being rounded up by bigger fish. Now without that, where are the breaks and structure? On one UTube the guy was saying he was catching fish, but guys on either side of him were not. But maybe he was also on a hole where the fish were. I don't know, he did say that if it didn't bring in fish, then move. Well that's the way everyone fishes in the surf. Or should anyway. LOL
