Florida chris Loc: Navarre Florida

I just retired. I live in Navarre Florida. I'm originally from Ga.. don't know much about salt water fishing and don't have a boat. Been going over to the bay and beach without much luck. Any help on bait or right times to go or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm good freshwater fisherman used to bass and trout and crappie fish a lot. Thanks and keep on fishing.

Go to the Pier at Navarre Beach. Take a Chair with you and rest on the walk to the end. ;) 1500 feet long. Lots of good fishing there. take a wagon or cart with you. Saw the Chairs with the Umbrellas when I was down there. Should have bought a couple. Bass Pro has them now up here or they can be ordered in. Maryland.

I know very little about surf fishing in Florida, but there are lots of folks on here who do, so just wait. welcome to the forum and please go back to your profile and update your location. we use that to keep an eye on you.

Welcome to the Forum, FL. c, as you can see, it is a great place to be. And so is Navarre, FL. Some piers, actually many piers, do not allow umbrellas on beach chairs because of the hassle and danger they cause while fighting a big fish. I don't know if the chairs with the big shade on top of them are allowed or not. I usually just take a little collapsable stool out there to sit on. It's easier to carry. If I were you, I would just take a walk out on the pier and the beach and talk to the local fishermen. You can tell them by their carts. The local's cart is organized and well equipped, but not over-equipped. The vacationer's cart is over-equipped and lacks organization. Also, talk to the people in the tackle shops and the bait shops, see what they have to say. You will receive a lot of help on this post, there are a lot of members that are surf/pier fishermen on the Forum, and a lot of member from FL. You could join; www.gulfshorespierfishing.com. It is a very good fishing forum a little to the west of you. Pensacola has one too but the Gulf Shores is a much better one. Fishing will be the same in both places. Good Luck & Tight Lines!
