I have been asked by family that are coming down to the Destin Fort Walton Florida if I could check out some charter boats for a fishing trip in the gulf. Does anyone have any experience with any good charter boats in the area?

Thanks, plum. Boss, the Ft. Walton and Destin area is very beautiful and it has very good fishing. Highly recommended but kind of pricey, but not too bad. You may want to check out; www.sharefishingcharter.com or www.tidalfish.com and see what they say. They do have head/party boats in that area and you may want to check them out. Good Luck!

Go to the dock at Destin and just ask around people who have other business there. I think most of them are reliable.

Plum, Flyguy, Judge thank you for your input, and taking time to reply.I think maybe going down to the docks and hanging out is a good idea. Anyone else that has experience with any of the Destin fishing charters I would like to hear what ya got to say

When you go down to the docks most of the charters will be honest 80% of them you will know the ones. They won't go out if the fish aren't biting and they will tell you. Or they will tell you what species they are catching. It may not be the fish you're looking for but they will be there if they say they are. I lived in Palm Beach and hung out on the docks.

I hung out at those Destin docks on the weekends back in 72 and 73 just to get fish heads for crab bait. All the Captains and ship hands were very nice and accommodating. Obviously they are long gone, but I am sure the tradition lives on there of being helpful and nice.

Me thinks u might wanna check out Yelp app and see what past customers have used. Contact Better Business Association in ur area - might wanna call a couple charters and ask for references. Good luck, have fun and enjoy fishing.

Thanks Raw Dawg Ron. Folks that are coming down to Destin are planning on coming down in mid May 2020. Not sure on what fishing is going on then. I am new to pan handle of Florida myself so still learning the ropes.

King fish and Cobia right off the beach, well in Panama City. Never got to fish Destin but think its the same or better from what I hear.
