Question about barrel swivel use for ice fishing.
Hello! Picked up fishing this year and have had a lot of fun with my fly rod and spinning rod. It's finally cold enough up here in AK for the lakes to have frozen up, and I've been trying my hand at ice fishing.
Considering it's my first time ice fishing, I've been doing really well. Caught some big char and lots of rainbows. What a blast!
My question is about tying my jigs. I'm mostly using things like Swedish pimples, teardrop tungsten jigs, or fly looking jigs (sorry if I don't know all the terminology yet). My knot tying goes to crap when my hands are cold, so I have been just tying a barrel swivel and using that to change out my lures so I don't have to keep tying knots. Am I doing myself a disservice here? Should I just tie the line directly to the lure, or does the barrel swivel make no difference to the fish? I'm just worried that the swivel is going to screw up the presentation or something.
Any advice would be appreciated. Fish on!

If you're catching fish I wouldn't worry about it

That's kind of what I was thinking. Actually picked up a submersible camera today, so I guess I can watch for myself now. Thanks!

It depends on the fish really. Some won't care, others will avoid you like the plague. If it's working, I wouldn't worry about it. Especially if you're using fluorocarbon line, that's practically invisible under water.
