My approach is "modified deadsticking":
I fish the Slug-Go (fluke) as a feeding minnow with very little forward movement. When I do move it forward, I then leave it in one spot again and twitch the bait repeatedly to immitate baitfish concentrating on a very small area.
If you have some current throw it so it comes back with the current. Only tighten the line to move it back in to the current for it to flow freely. You have to be a line watcher but the fish will face into the current to feed. With a simi-slack line and intense watching you can really load the boat. Just follow the bait as it moves with the current. Fish will load up on points and ledges so you can catch several bass. The smaller fish usually bite first so do not throw them back in until they quiet hitting and/or ready to leave.
