Back in the 1950’s and 60’s, I used to go fishing on a covered dock that floated in Lake Cisco, Texas. At night with several folks sitting around an opening in the middle we fished and drank coffee, etc. Had a good time and visit. Over the years, I have not seen any of these docks since moving to MIssissippi. Anyone around have anything like this to go to? Would like to try again since getting in the seventy plus year range it would be nice to spend some time besides staying at home. I don’t watch TV and get tired of reading a lot.
I have a couple of floating docks in my area but the fishing is not to good the public have fished it alot and it dont seem to be much left but you never know for sure.Good luck on getting out of the house i know it can get to be a drag sitting around.
Heated docks here and in Missouri for winter fishing.
Like you said sitting around with a bunch having a great time.

Thanks for the info. I guess it cost too much for the covered docks to be available any more. Too many people abuse things today and make it hard for the good folks to enjoy life.
There is allways someone around to mess it up for other people happens all the time and everywhere.

There was one featured on the B.Y.O.B. post a few days ago. I think it was a dock, maybe it was a deck, a homeless shelter, I couldn't tell for sure. I believe they called it a pontoon, but I don't think that was right.

Is that politically correct?

A politically correct description.
Not really anything about it was political it seemed to be floating true and level.
I said at the time it looked seaworthy to me. OK. Maybe lake worthy. I would fish from it.
Barrels and pallets. A good start. It needs a cook stove and a coffee pot.
