Well aware that midday isn’t ideal for bass. Just inquisitive as to what you guys recommend for a slower midday bite until I can crush them with the frog in the evening.

Definitely go sub-surface, slow down a bit, and try to target structure like docks or weeds and lily pads. Texas rigged senkos, jigs with creature trailers, swimbaits, and crankbaits all do well. Try to imagine where the fish can get some shade and fish there.

Ended up Texas rigging a worm with a curly tail and a senko and crushed them as if it was prime time for feeding. Kept the pace slow like you said and let them suck it off the bottom, I even mat punched about 5 of them as well! Thanks for the suggestion.

That’s awesome, congrats! It’s a really useful skill to be able to find fish all day. Check out finesse tactics like drop shotting, Ned rigs, and jerkbaits. They can all produce when it’s less than ideal.
