Work's been a bear for the last 4 months and I haven't had many chances to hit the water. Finally got out for a bit today. Got the chance to try out my new stuff too. I picked up a St. Croix rod and Pflueger President reel a couple weeks ago. Talk about smooth.
Only thing I caught was a beautiful 10" leaf bass, but man was it nice to get out there for a couple hours.
Always nice to get out on the water. Is the President a spinner or a baitcaster? My wife just bought me a new Ambassadeur c3 for Christmas, don't know if I can convince that I need a new rod to go with it, but I do own several St. Croix rods and I love every one of them. But I don't have a St. Croix casting rod. Tight lines you old goat!

No sir. Getting to the pond thinking, "I'm gonna try out this new lure with my new setup." And with a flick ,sent my new lure sailing much farther than expected directly into the one spot of heavy cover. That was dumb.
Found out the blood knot I was unsure of was actually quite strong. My ability to recover said lure, not so much.
