Put Together a New Rod and Reel Combo, How'd I do?

So, I bought a Lews Mach Speed 400, spooled with 15 lb super coated florocarbon and am pairing it with a Diawa Laguna 702 medium/fast action pole; For under $50! I plan on using it for River catfish/maybe Carolina rigged bass Fishing.

Thoughts? I am going to be trying it out today and am so excited. This is my first non-less than $20 dollar, cheapy combo ever, and I researched the rod and reel individually online before I bought them.

So, nervous as well?.... Yea I really am actually. This is the largest size reel and longest pole setup I have ever owned and I hope I can handle it. If not, I won't be bass or catfishing like I want to, you know, being able to catch large enough fish to take them home and actually cook them.

I'm not real familiar with either one. But from my experience the more you use it the better you will be. Hope you do well and catch plenty for dinner. Let us know . good luck

Well I was skunked, and the florocarbon line I have on the reel is garbage, but overall I really like the setup so far. I might have to get one of those electronic bite indicators because the tip of the rod is not as sensitive as I am used to using. But I think I finally have a good catfishing setup!
