Glad to see somebody catching something. I'm supposed to get to go fishing dec 11. Hope hope. That's just 17 days into my knee replacement. I've been doing great, according to my therapist. I even took my wife & daughter out to dinner tonight. I see my dr Tue the 10th & I plan to walk into his office unaided by walkers & such. I'll be fishing in Oklahoma's lake eufala a 200,000 + acre lake full of crappie. It'll be an indoor heated marina but my buddy's been limiting out regular there. No heat either, but the temple's only in the high 40's. I'm really looking forward to it, wish all you guys could be there. Sometimes there are some pretty nice old bluehair's that will share a sandwich with a guy that'll take their fish off the line. Remember that old Apache indian saying "getting old is better than getting none at all". Well, I am highly medicated right now.

bluehair's !!! Can't tell you when the last time was that I heard that reference. Glad to see you up and walking around, toss that cane to the doc Tuesday and say see you on the lake.

Plumbob, it's really scary for me to be thinking you & I are thinking just alike on this deal. I'm totally missing deer season because of this. Friends will bring me meat but it just won't taste the same. Crappie are biting good & I'm about to bust loose from these walls & go catch me some. I'm just glad to have friends who will face my wife's wrath if everything doesn't go right. What are friends for anyway?

It's not about catching even one fish. It's about reaching my goal. This was major surgery, especially for a gimped up old fart like me. I looked at some recovery times of different folks & decided I was going fishing my 3rd week after surgery. I've been on that leg machine 6 hours every day plus done all the other painful exercises the therapist set for me. I'm not 100% nuts, pretty close, but if I'm not up to walking in the doc's office Tuesday unaided by a Walker I'll swallow my pride & go in the best way I can & try fishing the following week. I'm going to give it all I've got til 1:40 PM Tuesday. I've got to think positive. That's my opinion.
