Urban fishing Miami
Hey fellow fisherman. Next week, I will be in the US for the first time in my life. As so many videos online are of black bass, it has been a dream of mine to catch one. Europe doesn't really have them. I will stay in a hotel next to the Miami River, where it flows into the sea. I won't have a lot of time, possibly one evening and one morning. I think, I will need this 3 day license. Any tips are appreciated, where to go, which lures for bass (peacock would also be great). Is the river a good spot? Is it allowed to fish there?

Wacky rigged senko will be your best friend. Bass go ham for them

In Miami if you’re going freshwater Peacock Bass in the deep parts of canals and the river, however you have some very good saltwater there. Snook Redfish, Speckled trout close to shore and snapper grouper and Mahi, kingfish, sailfish etc offshore.

Due to the limited time, I won't make it offshore. I had some street fishing in mind, staying close to the hotel, if possible. But, yes, I think I will have to go for the salties... :-)

If your staying near the mouth of the miami river. I would fish the miami circle park. Get some live shrimp and try for snappers, jacks, tarpon and snook.
As for bass theres no close area to fish for them by downtown miami. You would have to head west. Topical park is good spot for peacock bass and large mouth.

Thank you, I just watched a video, where some guys do this. Yeah, while I would prefer largemouth and peacock bass, due to the limited time, this might be the ideal solution. Your location tips are really appreciated!

When you catch some could you share pictures please?
You can fish anywhere you want as long as there is no signs posted NO FISHING/ TRESPASSING! Good luck! Sinko is your best bet!
Remember if you fish in salt and or fresh water you need a license for both salt and fresh water. Tight lines and good luck.
Go up the river to the canals where the peacocks roam! Well black bass and all kinds of tropical fish too. If you have a day to explore check out big Lake Okeechobee. Tight lines
