Always liked the Pecos. Wonderful country up there. Lived in Los Alamos for a long time. I've only fished the San Juan once. I was out of my element. I didn't have any flies that needed a microscope to tie on. Glad you're here look forward to stories and pics.
Got to get to Navajo dam. Go during the week to avoid the bulk of the crowd. Walk the braids up from Texas hole. You will need good eyesight to tie on the #28 zebra midge or black beauty but it will be worth the eye strain when your rod doubles over.
Get a boat and take a ride south to bang the banks with woolly buggers for some awesome brownie action. Also, steelhead up in there too.
You are so lucky, oh, take that back—skilled is what I meant as those fish at the San Juan have been to school. They are hard to hook, but when you do. . . hang on.
