It’s been a while since I’ve gone fishing and I’m trying to go but idk if it’ll be worth sitting in the cold if the fish don’t bite. Any one have experience winter fishing in the ocean and have any recommendations

I'm in upper Alabama, not *that* much more north than you, and the water temps are in the 50s pretty regularly lately.

I’ve been having luck fishing trash piles in about 15 feet of water; either Ned rig or crankbait seem to be the ticket. I fished Logan Martin a few Saturdays ago and caught about 15. Water temps were mid 50’s air temps in the morning were upper 30’s. Friday I’m going to Lay so we will see...

Don’t forget the ice auger. Spoons with a minnow head work great for walleye.

I'm in NE Iowa, been catching pike in small River/Creeks, lost count at over 20 in just 4 hours the other day. Heck I never even moved spots more than 10 yards that day lol, and I just started fishing at age 53 this summer. Lots of fishing left for water, then drop some holes in the ice

Here in the big bend of florida, at least, I shore fish like reds and trout will start out moving into creek mouths and rivers as bait moves in and the weather cools. By the coldest part of winter they can be found in deeper holes of these coastal tributaries and caught on crankbaits like a mirrolure catch 2000 in gold orange and black... or gulp shrimp/paddletails on a jig... on sunny days look for shallows with dark bottom to hold fish

You are lucky in the south. In wv right now, it is so tough.
