Black Friday Hauls?
Anyone else spoil themselves on Black Friday? I took full advantage of the deals on American Legacy Fishing and TW. Picked up the Shimano bantam/imx pro combo, and an slx dc combo. Plus about 100 worth of soft plastics and terminal tackle. Cold up here in western NY but I’m ready for spring!

I am placing some orders as well. Heard on TW the 20% off even applies to more expensive rods and reals even if it isnt advertised. I will be looking into it. Did you experience this?

Both combos I purchased from American Legacy fishing. They have the bantam/imx combo at 400, and the slx dc combo at 229. TW has Shimano listed as one of their excluded brands, and the discount didn’t show in cart when I tried adding a few of their higher end reels.

You have to actually buy the stuff, the discount was shown in my confirmation email from TW, I got the slx dc reel 151.99 there

Yes, I bought the slx dc reel and it shows full price until you actually buy it, the confirmation email had the reduced price for 151.99

I’m really looking forward to it. Have you gotten to use it much? The rod says it’s rated for 5/8. Curious how well it handles 1/2 oz jigs/worms

I caught a few bass on it with a 1/4 ounce jig plus trailer so I’m thinking that’s around 1/2 ounce total. Handled that like a champ.
The rod is super sensitive so I want to actually try some bigger Ned rigs on it. You can cast it a mile, I set 2 internal brakes on and the dial turned all the way up.
Any particular reason you went with the SLX DC vs the Curado DC? I need another reel and was looking at those. Also saw where American Legacy had the Metaniums for $299

Bought a 13 Fishing Concept Z for $100, didn't even need a reel but have a red reel on an orange rod and the Concept Z is orange so I went ahead and splurged lol
