After looking for a second time he definitely looks bigger than the one I got today; I'm not ending my season, fish all year, just not as much as I used to. Feel sorry for you guys that can't fish all year. For sure, not as comfortable as warm weather but just about as good as when it's 90Β° plus.

Must be reverse (upside-down?) weather pattern from all them twisters ! Hey, Oz ! We had a real whizzer of a rainstorm yesterday ! It poured buckets here in Mesa, but my buddy in Tempe (10 miles)
said he hardly saw more than a few drops ! We had THREE confirmed twisters in the Valley from that one storm; one in Queen Creek (30 min. SE), one in Chandler (15 min. SW), and one in north Phoenix (40 min. NW), plus another unconfirmed ! Last week, west side of Phoenix got 2 to 3 inches of hail, from pea-sized to ping-pong balls; a ton of insurance claims for peoples' cars getting pelted ! Any park with a slight hill or incline saw kids out with sleds and saucers ! Got more rain from those two weather patterns than from whole monsoon season !
Crazy freakin' weather !

Must be reverse (upside-down?) weather pattern fro... (show quote)
And when it rains and the parks fill up with water the kids are out with sail boards and inner tubes. Crazy place that valley. The dust storms are as thick as the smog in L.A. Sorry BigA I didn't like that valley as a place to live. Eastern is real lucky, he can shovel his snow down instead of sideways. Saves the back, course he'd have to get hisself turned over and at his tender age that is a feat of monumental proportions.

Have either of you seen 'The Scorpion King' with Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson ? Our dust storms (haboobs) look just like the one
in the movie ! We had an
unusually dry monsoon season this year, but last year some of those parks did fill up with water (over two feet deep in one place); at one BIG park in East Mesa, some folks were scurrying around on jet-skis and even towing others on ski-boards ! You're right ! This Valley IS somewhat whack-o on occasion, but better four months of heat than six (or more) months of sleet, snow, hail and frigid temps ! Also, I don't have to
shovel rain, or put up with idiots who can't drive under those
conditions ! Although I do miss my spring trouting, the overall fishing opportunities are better here; more species and bigger
fish !

Lived thru a couple of them when I was in Surprise. Accurate description. I didn't stay there long enuff to get acquainted with the fishing. So just different strokes, my friend.

Caught this one at Wilson Point, Maryland. Brackish water around 43 degrees. Air temp. Around 41 degrees. Wind blowing at 8mph. Latest in the year I've fished since a teenager. Think I might be done for the year. We will see though

I fished in Lake of the Ozarks a lot when I was a kid. My grandparents had a place on the lake with a pier. First fish I caught was a Crappie using a cricket I picked up. I loved going to Springfield Mo. every summer, on a train, and fishing with my PaPa.
