Rotational play in main shaft normal?

I just noticed that the main shaft of my spinning reel has some play or wiggle in it when you spin it. Is this normal and if not what could cause it? I understand that vertical play is normal in a worm gear setup but don't know if rotational play is. Anyone know?

Oh, it's an old okuma baitfeeder. Probably close to 15 years old but in excellent shape. I keep it well maintained. Wondering what would cause the looseness. There's like a 1/4 inch play back and forth. Had to improvise the anti reverse clutch spring since it shot off into space never to be found again. Im thinking I'll have to take it apart again to see what I can see.

Remove the spool. You will see a hex nut. Tighten it. Cheers

If tightening the hex nut on the shaft below the spool did not help, chances are the shaft is bent. Cheers
