I have a 4500 spinfisher v that’s hooked up to an old cheap rod from a Walmart combo. I mainly fish from the surf and jetties in Galveston/Corpus Christi.
What’s the best 2 piece rod that would mate well with this reel? Thanks!

Do you fish with bait or lures? Tbh I’d get a 9’ penn battalion that throws 1-3 oz. that’s what I have my 5500 spinfisher v on and it’s a great snook/ bigger inshore setup. And the colorway matches the reel which idk, kinda nice. Got mine cheap off a friend who broke my old rod but I don’t think they’re too expensive new anyway ~$100

I fish with both, I was actually looking at a 8’ battalion! So far the only options I know of are the battalion and the ugly stick big water Are you pretty happy with your battalion? How’s the sensitivity?

Do yourself a favor and opt for the 9ft for when you’re plugging. You’ll find that extra range is really nice especially with a 4500
