Took my son, son in law, and grandson out fishing today. Extremely windy and cold in MD. Fun being out there with family, but the wind was blowing us every which way, it was hard to cast with the wind, so we had to add some extra weights, which cause several line snaps and loss of precious lures. We caught nothing, but we had a good time freezing out tails off out there and I know my wife appreciated having the four of us out of our crazy house for several hours.

Happy Thanksgiving, all. Keep your lines wet and tight!!!

Sounded like fun John . I was going to head out but here in middle river maryland it was the same and blowing directly at the bank I would have fished off of. So I'll try tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving to you also

Columbia, memory lane there. Started my construction years in the 60's there. Retired from Ft Meade area just about 3 years ago. Actually did my share of hunting in what is neighborhoods now while living on Montgomery Road. Some fond memories there.

For sure you lived where many of rabbit, quail, dove, and pheasant provided dinners from 64 - 69 good old High School days. Mt Saint Joe. Address was 5533 Montgomery road between Kerger road and Old Montgomery. I am long gone from there now.

I lived in Severn MD from 82 to 85 next to Fort Meade. Fished Liberty Reservoir often found a great spot but was a good hike to get to it. Caught many Smallmouths few Bass Catfish & really decent Bream/Bluegills & my first Walleye. Most SM Bass were caught on live crawfish. Caught them in a river in Columbia area can’t remember name where bait was caught but was easy access. Have wanted to return to Liberty since moving back to NC. Awesome place to fish!!

Hi JohnC not sure if you are fishing fresh or salt water bank or shore fishing but you should try Liberty which has strict boating regulations but there are several places to fish from shore it also has a healthy population of Crappies watched guys fish a beaver hut across from my spot & most times they slayed em was fun to watch & frustrating because I could not access it also see my earlier post

So you have a little bit of a ride for salt water. I assume you mostly fresh water fish?

Yeah all fresh water. Would love to fish outer banks sometime. Seeing the post from MD & having lived in the area of Ft Meade & Columbia brought up memories of fishing there. Have fished since a kid but really got started bass fishing when lived there. Elliot City is a wonderful area I might add.
