Mornin' everyone, I have looked at three different forecasts and they all are different. One says mostly rain, one says a mixture of rain and snow and one says mostly snow, 5" - 9". So, do I put my plow and chains on, or do I just put the plow on, or do I just wait and see what happens. Whatever comes is suppose to hit tonight.
Anyway, I saw a post from thecherryfarmer asking about smoked whitefish recipes, he must be from Door Country in Northern WI. because they have both cherries and whitefish up there. A very beautiful place any time of the year but it is Heaven during the Fall with the colors. That post took me back to my teen days when My dad would smoke some of the younger coons that my brother and I would shoot or my mother would throw it in the oven and bake it whole. They were so good either way, they tasted like ham but you had to trim all of the fat off or they had a wild taste. Anyone else ever eat coon out there? Have a good day!
Not that I remember, but had an uncle that ate them bbg'ed.

Never coon, but I’ve eaten crow. I’ve since learned to keep my mouth shut 🤐

I have. Its only for a long distance spitting contest.
Dark, oily, slimy, disgusting.
The dog wouldn't touch it either. One sniff was enough for him.
If you like coon, go to the cherry orchard during harvest. They eat all night, get drunk, and are hanging from the tree limbs like decorations on a Christmas tree.

The grouse will eat the crab apples that have fallen off of the trees going up the driveway that have fomented over Winter. They will get drunker than a skunk and fly into the windows of the house.
Sinner and Fly, you two have painted a picture in my mind. Thanks
Watched 3 quail on a golf course one day fly into a patio door.
Killed all 3 buddy of mine got them had them for supper that night.
No buckshot.
No bb spitting what's the fun in that?

In my younger days an old man brought some barbecued to work. We had it on buns and it was pretty good. we didn't know it was coon until we finished. Don't know if I would of tried it if I knew. Haven't had it sense.

Did that with my mother in law and sister in laws with miniature country fried steak appetizer.
They like them until told what they ate.
Hanging low swinging slow.
Thats no bull.
Speaking of bull. Did anyone watch Bull last night?

That’s how I got my first grouse, age 8.

We tried to eat a couple of them in the Spring but they were very tough for some reason. I don't know why maybe because they were drunk. Normally, grouse is my favorite wild game. None better.
