Is it okay to use cut bait with a baitcaster?

I am about to purchase a baitcaster. I thought about and I think I’ve never seen someone use Dead bait for them.

I do sometimes. I caught these Vermilion snapper on the 4000c. In a hundred foot of water. Using cut squid. Other people use a little bigger baitcasters when fishing offshore on the party boat. I also use it to catch catfish in the Lakes.

Sho you can use cut bait. It's your reel. You can use whatever you want to use. Almost. Just gotta be heavy enough and tough enough to stay on a hook. Cut bait. Live bait. Worms. Liver. Dough. Spinner baits. Crank baits. Swim baits. Jigs. A long list.

I use cutbait & whole shad for all my catfishing. I use baitcasters & would not even consider using a spinning reel. That's just me. I'm old, set in my ways, hate change, love butter pecan ice cream & know how to use a baitcaster. Just my opinion.
