Now winter time in the Midwest, wondering if any lures are better to use during this time.

Cheap do nothing bait just throw a ned rig around should catch something. Also check out tactical bassin on YouTube. They release videos based on the season and they got some good winter stuff out right now.

I'm no pro but for me, moving baits (crank baits, chatter baits and lipless cranks) tend to be really effective during the colder months.

If anything, always throw a 5" senko!

Agreed... When in doubt throw a worm out.

Like fishing, kids can be fickle. Fishing requires patience- not exactly a strong suit for 4 year olds. Good luck.

A little fishing, exploring, and other activities to keep him occupied and interested, at that age.

Excellent advice. That’s how I do I with my grandson. One more thing I have learned, when you take a young kid fishing, leave your gear at home and take the kid fishing. You will be busy, I promise.

A pup ain't ever too young to take to the outdoors. Well I guess they should be housebroke & in long pants. I'm not going to change diapers. I like the fish smell on my hands.

I agree. When I take my grandsons fishing I spend more time baiting the hooks and taking off fish but enjoy every minute of it
