Oz, that's a nice skillet. Bet catfish and fried taters and corn bread would all come out great. My ma always used a cast iron skillet when she baked corn bread. I'm 68 years old but I still miss my ma, her corn bread, tater salad, biscuits and pinto beans.
Best cookware in the world. I'd really like to have a griddle like that. I miss my Dutch oven too.
Here is a dutch oven revival
www.outdooralabama.com/node/2780 Note from Outdoor Alabama even talks about cleaning pans. I remember my flea market grandpa brought a polished iron skillet home and grandma claimed it! Polished bottom food rarely stuck. There is an article about polishing iron skillets too on internet. Got polisher at home depot fits any drill.

Good article Raw Dog Ron. Copied that to my wife. All she cooks with on top the stove are cast irons. She has them all, even the oven.

Cast iron is a great way to cook. My grandparents, my mom and my wife uses cast iron. We also cook Jalapeño peppers with cheese inside with a cast iron grill that has holes for the peppers to set in. Boy howdy are they good.

That sounds great. I need to find one of those pans. Love jalapeno popers.
