Sheepshead n that's about it.
Been using live shrimp and some minnows around the cutoff and in the bayou around the docks. Nothing ....not the first bite. Even went up fowl river ......2 white trout and a puppy drum ... But at the cut off and around the bridges.....sheepshead city. .....fiddler crabs or small live shrimp. If u got some hermies ..get ready for some action. That's all that's happening down here at the moment .

Hey Darrell, it's good to hear from you. I spent 3 Winters in Gulf Shores, and familiar with where you are talking about. I caught a big octopus off the pier with live shrimp and it kept crawling out of our basket net, it finely broke my 14# braid. Is the Gulf Shores Pier Fishing Forum still in operation, I tried to look at it last Summer and I couldn't bring it up? Tight Lines!
I'm not sure. I haven't got to go to the gulf shores area. I'm on the other side in between Mississippi sound and mobile bay.

You live there or are you visiting?
I live here ...fowl river is a mile away. Dauphin island is 8 miles away. Bayou la batre is about the same. . there are many many places to fish from shore . Every other weekend we take the boat out. I like the challenge of finding the fish from shore . But not always possible..

So True! That's why they call it fishing and not catching.
That's right...enjoy every bit of it.
Went again yesterday. .. nothing. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the weather change and the tide issue. There hasn't been a big tide change Soo the currents aren't moving like they normally do and fish I've noticed bite better on a current. Which lately. No current. No bite.
