Seeing that it is/almost is hardwater season for us northern folks, what is everyone using for rigs/equipment?
Post what you've got, or if you have questions of what to get, whether its a stick with some tip up line or custom rigs with all of the latest electronics.

Waders and monofilament. While everybody is out there in droves on the ice, I'll enjoy the solitude of the river and the steelhead that come with it.

Unfortunately, in my area, there's not many streams and rivers, which is a big reason why I haven't gotten a fly or float outfit yet. Chasing steelies in the current is super fun though, the few times I've gotten to do it.

I'm in SE MI, just a couple of streams with steelies out my way. The Clinton River and Huron River. Sometimes you really gotta work to get a bite, but it's still a great time. I haven't hit the ice in awhile because the the lakes are very unpredictable compared to how they were 20 and even 10 years ago.

We have it the opposite. Lakes are locking up faster than they ever had. It's looking like I will be able to get out on the lake nearest to me in probably a couple weeks if the weather holds. There's already a skim coat on it, just waiting for a couple more inches. Most years we weren't out until Early January. Might be Dec 1 this year.

Kinetic Zander Icerods (that I use for pike) with baitcasters and 0,40 mm monofilament. That’s my ice pike fishing setups.

Very cool. What bait do you use mostly in your location? Artificial, live, or dead bait? Presumably these are mainly for jigging and not for deadsticking?
