Is it worth it?

Trying to decide between the tamarack 10 ft simple kayak or the tamarack angler 100 fishing kayak but it's almost double the price it's gonna be my first kayak. Any opinions?

Are you asking about the difference between Lifetime’s Tamarack Angler (about $250) and Teton Angler ($499)?

If so, it is definitely worth it for the seat upgrade alone, in my opinion. My first kayak was the Tamarack and the first thing I did was buy a stadium seat upgrade. It was necessary & definitely better than the stock seating option, but not actually that comfortable.

Teton is down to like $350 now, got it on sale a few months back for $329. I agree though with the seat, my first kayak had a similar sear to the Tamarack and my back would start hurting within an hour or so. I can vouch for the Teton, have been in it for a few 10+ hour sessions with no issues in comfort. I don't know if it can be beat at the price it's at.

Oh wow that’s a great deal! I’d buy that in a heartbeat. I enjoyed my tamarack—and my husband still takes it out fly fishing—but I’ve moved on to a pedal drive now.

Jealous! That will be my next move. With my older kayak being so uncomfortable, I just could not really get into fishing out of kayak. So I couldn't justify spending the money on a pedal kayak if I wasn't going to use it that much. However in the few months I've owned the Teton I've probably spent just as much time on the water with it as I did in the 3-4 years I had my old kayak. It totally changed how I feel about kayak fishing, mentally and physically lol.

I can absolutely understand that! I felt that way too when I went from my little one to my big one :) just wish the weather and access was better where I live. I don’t get to fish year round and that’s kinda sad.

Definitely know that struggle. I can get out almost all year, we usually ice over for a few months here in New Jersey and it's definitely the worst state I've fished in lol. Not many lakes and too many people.

Yuuuuuuup I live in southern New York. Same stuff, just over the state line. To add insult to injury, I’m a Florida native so I know what I’m missing!

If you have the money in hand and could afford to buy whichever one you want which boat would you buy and now why?
Do you buy the boat that is not quit as expensive and spend the difference on something else.
