I collect knives, guns, old fishing tackle&old coins & currency. Kinda collected 2 or 3 x wives. That being said I’m 68 yrs young and enjoy the company here with all you guys. Other than that I’m boring.

To MadMac:
My daughter is distressed over the current political crisis. She asked me if anyone in America could smile today. Please forgive me, but I sent her a copy of your avatar. I told her that MadMac seemed to be happy, no matter what. That some how got her out of the hopeless mode. Thank you.

Awesome pics, I’m in Michigan and rock hunt often. Lake Michigan and smaller inland lakes are all glacier made and we find many awesome aggregates and geodes, many fossils, etc. good hunting, a pump spray bottle like you use for weed killer is good to have in dry locations so you can spray the rocks to reveal what the are..

Collecting? I have collected everything, including junk. Right now beside fishing and hunting I feed the deer and squirrels every day. I have a 1930 Model A Ford 5 window coupe with a rumble seat. A few guns and reloading equipment and I also buy knife blades and make scales or handles for them. I use cherry, mesquite, and other woods from around the world. Right now I am making a new wood gunstock for my Italian made Chiapas 17 hmr rifle. It is a single shot with a heavy wire stock that folds up and stores in a leather case. I am using western red cedar for the stock. Another hobby of mine it making gun belts and holsters. I made my holster for my S&W 38 air weight. It is my regular open cary weapon. Oh, well, better let someone else have it for a while.

Your welcome Smoky. As far as being happy I see that I have two options. Grins or tears and I look terrible in tears.

My wife told me she heard something strange in the bathroom and had shut it in. I opened the door not knowing what to expect. You already know what I found.

I keep a spray bottle of distilled water, a vinegar and ammonia all natural Windex type cleaner, a scrub brush and armor all tire wet shine in my car just for rocks, lol. So I can identify, clean and mini polish and seal them all in one go. The area of Texas that I travel through was once an inland sea, so lots of fossils; we also have granite shelves rich in quartz and jasper; and petrified palm wood that turns into flint or chalcedony; native American artifacts; and in the rivers I find a crap ton of Agate/Jasper mixed specimens.

I am very blessed.

Hi Jess.
I have a couple of these rocks and someone told me that the sparkling white parts are crystals. These rocks were here when we moved in. I didn't find them.

With the lighting and no close up shots of the crystalline structure, I can't even fathom a Guess
