Cleaning saltwater gear. How often?

I bought good saltwater gear when I moved to Florida but don't clean it but once every four months, maybe. I fish 3-4 times a week. How often do you clean/wash your saltwater reel, rod, etc.?

Soak it in warm clean water and a bit of baby shampoo. Soaking it in water will dissolve the salt!

I have a spray bottle of water in the back of the truck. Rod and reel gets sprayed after every use. Any lures that got used also.
A light spray of Real Magic when I get home.

Say no more. 5 out of 5 above and now the 6th, wash it down after every use. Detail it 3 - 4 month intervals.

Clean it every time u use it! Salt water is a killer even if it is made for salt water.

The 'Ol Salt that taught me 'life in the marine environment' was serious about daily wash down everything in contact with salt water or spray ... reels, rods, line and lures. His big secret was soft mist on the reels ... a heavy rinse will carry the initial flush of salt contaminated water deeper into the reel and line spool. Then wipe surfaces with light oil laden cloth ... A caution here, tho, some of the new reels have a corrosion resistant finish on some parts that will be damaged by applied oils ... check your owner manual. Grease n oil the innards after a spell of heavy use ... take the hi dollar reels to a qualified pro.
And highly recommend back off the drag and cast control at end of day. Kinda like going to bed still wearing your 'stand up' jeans and belt cinched up tight ... Hope this helps ...

I fish in salt water quite a bit. For the last 25 years + I have always totally washed down my reels with cold water and rods as well. when I'm away from salt water for extended periods I wipe the reels down with corrosion inhibitor to protect finish from corrosion and locking up. I've never had an issue.
NEVER soak your reels and submerse them in water in an effort to clean salt off. You will let water into gears inside and damage your reel.
Once a month or more oil reels per manufacturer instructions and the reel spin effortlessly. It's your investment- protect it.
