Hello everyone,
I’ve recently picked out a bait caster reel. I picked out the cadence cb8 style reel. I’m new to bait casters and I don’t know what rod to match it. I’m looking for one in the $50-$80 dollar rod. I can go higher but preferably not. I would like it to be a quality rod. Also quickly, could you recommend what brand and size braid? Thanks!

If you can bump the 80 up to about 100 look at the St. Croix Mojo bass. Very very nice rod for the money.

If you want real advice ... everyone here will need to know what you are targeting, where are you fishing (lakes, rivers, reservoirs) .... you trolling? Lots of questions to be answered.

You might want to stay away from Lamiglas for right now as they are going through a down period in good quality since there company president died and they are redesigning there rod line.

Look at the Kastking brand I just picked one up a few months ago square bill cranking rod medium heavy moderate fast tip. Awesome Fuji guides 9 on a 6’8” rod I think it was around $60 also bought a reel little over a $100 in the whole setup works flawlessly. I also have a couple Kastking spring setups great quality for the money you can only buy online not sold in stores that to me at first was a drawback because I couldn’t put my hands on it! No regrets!!

Sorry about not adding details. I’m going to use this rod in saltwater for trout, redfish, flounder, and other gamefish species. Also I will use this rod for bass.
