I created a free website to compete with bowlers from all across the nation when you can't get out for that trophy fish. It is a proof of concept (beta) where you can bowl on a league and then post your scores on www.potbowling.com to be teamed with 3 other bowlers around the country using your average. It is free, will always be free, but someday we could add payout of real cash prizes. So give it a look and see if it interests those of you who like to bowl when your not fishing. Thanks guys.

While on a trip to the west coast, we ran into them in California. It was like the Biblical Locusts arrival. They were everywhere.

I’m glad that I sparked a serious debate! Unfortunately, it got a bit heated. That said, I wouldn’t have it any other way. FISH ON!!! 🏄🏼‍♂️🎣

It wouldn't have gotten heated if you hadn't been such a smart ass and started calling insulting people. People like you get so high and mighty and think you are superior over others who don't think like you. Got news for you, you are typical of those who are trying to change this great country with their political correctness. Same kinda thinking. Don't need it, don't want it, got along without you before I heard from you, gonna get along without you now.

However you take what he said, he did not need to disparage others because they do not meet his standards of what is 'Fair'. He didn't need to call others derogatory names. Or be insulting. Bad form I think. He could of argued his point without all that vulgarity. I dont care where he fishes or how well he does, he needs to be mindful of others that do not see things the way he does.

How far back would you have us go? Boats with no motors? Eliminate live wells? Cintrifugal brakes in reels? Carbon fiber rods? These are all technological advances you don't seem to have any problem with. Let's tie a vine to a tree limb and use a bone hook with a worm on it. Primitive enough for you? I'm 71.

my sentiments exactly.

I don't think you are older than me, but your views on the advancements to technology is like the candle makers in an era of electric lights. What your personal views are may matter to you, but I doubt those of us that use sonar give them much weight. You accuse us of several character weakness's without knowing any of us. I suspect you have been waiting to vent your criticisms for a while as I have not seen anyone else go off the handle as you have done. Think what you well, but when you go off like this you expose yourself to the same criticism, and hold your sanctimonious self up to public humiliation. Fish anyway you like but it might be a good idea to stay far away from those of us that are technologically aware. OBTW, I am 73 years old.

Would an outrigger be called for to counter the higher center of gravity?

SC has BIG lakes. AND the rivers that lead to the ocean. I have a 20' pontoon/with 70hp yamaha 4stroke that is comfortable, that is pretty safe on these lakes and does about 20 mph which is fast enough for a non tournament fisherman in his 70's. I do not know how much you can afford but a new 20 foot boat rigged out as a fisherman's boat runs around 25-27k with the 70. Charleston/Myrtle beach areas are prime fishing destinations. If this interests you try www.berkeleyoutdoors.com/ to look at their inventory. They sell bassboats too, but that's not for me.

I have six ATKINS{sp} rod holders mounted on my pontoon for just that purpose. Two forward on the bow, two on the port and starboard forward of the helm and two on the aft of the boat. Good for trolling and bottom drift/anchored fishing. They can be purchased for roughly $18 apiece at Walmart.w I use twelve foot medium rods on the forward and 6ft saltwater heavy rods in the aft holders. Those rods can be used in salt or fresh water and have roller guides from top to bottom. They look like $800 rods. Those rods can be purchased for $78 on https://www.aliexpress.com. Not everyone will like that setup but for old folks like myself I need all the help I can get for the big fish in Lake Moultre, SC.
