Was lucky enough to get out and catch a nice bluefin Tuna earlier this week. Fished out of San Diego on the American Angler great boat with an amazing skipper and crew.

I’ve seen the pics and the tv shows it just goes beyond this old boy’s head. Ocean fishing is just beyond me. Heck, I was in my 60’s before I ever even saw the ocean in person.

I grew up fishing on Long Island Sound, first in rental boats, then in my fathers boat. Never got out into the Atlantic till we started going offshore. Late '80s early '90s. It was amazing.

I've never been on the Atlantic. Seen it but never been out on it.
I've fished the Pacific a few times but mostly fish inland waters.
Even though the Napa, Petaluma and Sac all empty into the bay.

wulff, the TV just doesn't do it justice, ya can't imagine what it's like to battle one of those beasts. Speed and RAW power, almost beyond belief.

Spending the night 100 miles offshore, with nothing but the moon and stars above is awesome.

On a nice CALM night I wouldn't mind it. However, I'm prone to seasickness and since one can NEVER guarantee how calm the ocean will be, I might be better off not goin quite so far off shore.
