Made the trip to Misquamicut from Groton yesterday. First try at Fluke for the season. Beautiful day. Water still a bit cold for fatties I think.55 degrees off the carousel. My buddy and I caught 10 between us and managed a couple of respectable fish 21 and 22 in. Released a couple out of season sea bass as well.

Welcome to the Stage Falcon, and nice intro catch! That's some good eats there. Thanks for the report and picture.

Thanks. Considering how slow it was happy to get a couple for the table. May try the south side of Fishers Island next week🤷‍♂️

Ty. Sometimes it's more fishing than catching but always better than staying home.

How was the fishing for Winter Flounder this year?

Not many people bother with winter flounder. Not many around. Also no docks are in at boat launches.

That is sad to hear. They are tasty. It has been years since I fished for them.

Fluke are tasty too. All fish were plentiful back in the day. Overfishing and water quality unfortunately wiping out a lot of fish.
