I've had mediocre luck so far this season, so I thought I'd post an old picture I took a few years ago. Brian was a fishing buddy of mine from the U.K. who used to come to Maine every summer. One day, he showed up at my house in the middle of a raging thunderstorm and asked if I wanted to go fishing. I called him Mad Dog from then on.

Here's a picture of him and his nephew, Jake on a calmer day out.

Beautiful photo tubosho!
I can just anticipate the smallies breaking that mirrored surface and smashing a tiny torpedo and then jumping wildly into the fog!

Great name for Mad Dog!
I have been called a few things by my fishing buddies too!

I love fishing on dead calm water, watching big catfish belly roll slapping skipjacks out of the surface, then hearing a Bass showing how to attack a frog sitting on the log and bird's seemingly laughing as rating the Olympic dive. Great picture.

Guess your friend wanted to buck the stereotype and prove he really was fit for the occasion!
