Was able to get out again to try for some more halibut. My buddy Jim was able to join me, otherwise I would’ve been home….thanks Jim! It was overcast, windy, choppy and cool on the way out and was hoping the conditions would be better as we got closer to the Oakland airport area, nope-worse, wind was out of the south. Set out the water anchor/drift sock and started trolling frozen herring. Action was slow, got a hit and Jim a shaker, then we lost the water anchor, rope broke (I think a couple of Allen screw heads on the back rail wore through it). Luckily had another smaller one on board and put that out, all good. The ride in was smoother until we crossed under the Bay Bridge headed to Berkeley, got fairly snotty (so happy with the new helm enclosure, kept us nice and dry!) Ended up with 2 halibut keepers and 1 striper, no complaints!

A 22” and 32” 9lb er.

Good catching guys! Looks like you’re getting the boat dialed in 40D. So good to see you out being a successful captain! Keep up the good catching! Good luck and be safe

Looks like a productive day despite the issues Denny. There's some tasty eating there. Thanks for the pictures.

Awesome. Choppy and rough but you got to get choppy with fish on the filet table. Good Job Jim and Grit.

Very nice! Those halibut look like a perfect eating size for several fresh meals without having to go into the deep freeze. Good test for your new boat modifications too!

Way2Go Denny, some nice fish you two caught! Weather looks great in the background, no snot in sight. Keep them lines tight my friend.

Alright Denny. Glad you caught a few. However, it doesn't sound like a pleasant outing to me.
SNOTTY should NOT be in the description of a boat ride. Specially if FISHIN is involved.

Thanks Fred, was a slow day and only missed a few strikes, so I’m happy with the results for sure!
