Kept 2 hybrids,2flatheads 1 channel. Caught a drum an had a decent size fish break line at the bank. Not sure what it was. I've never ate a hybrid anything I should know. Do they have a mud line πŸ€”. While took forever to get that last pic to upload

Nice catching Jimmy. I think all fish do, to a certain extent. It's their lateral line, that they sense things with. It's kinda like a nerve or organ.

A hybrid might have a strip of red meat down the side. Its,actually fatty tissue with lots of blood vessels. A lot of toxins concentrate Herr so if you remove it you eliminate some contaminants

When you filet hybrids leave about 1/8” of meat on the skin when removing it. This will remove the red meat from the sides of the filet. And then cut the blood line from the center of the filet
( lateral line) just cut on each side of the blood line and remove it. This will leave a nice white filet.

Good catch Whitey.

I’m sure the fish are happy when you’re busy, Mike.
