Celestial Event Tonight

This is rather Unique if you can see it. It starts right after sunset in the western sky above the horizon. Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, and Mars will be near the moon. The planets will stretch from the horizon to half way up the night sky. Mercury and Jupiter will quickly drop below the horizon half hour after sunset. Mercury and Uranus might require binoculars as they will be the dimmest planets. This can be seen all over the world. Good luck.

Uranus

Here also. I have a app on your phone that is free called Skyview Free. You can aim it in the sky and see what is in the direction your looking. Here are a couple I just looked at to show you. The Jupiter one has a smaller planet in front of it. That's Mercury. You can face where this thing is going to happen and see them on the phone.

Gordon it has cleared up for now. Not a cloud in the sky.
Fingers crossed.

You're on the northern edge so you should be safe from the severe weather, right? I don't know how the weather patterns move in that area.

I'm guessing you won't have a clear sky either way.

I was wrong in thinking the planets would all be in line. However all 5 planets were very visible half hour after sunset before the stars came out. I guess it can be seen all week but tonight was the peak.

If you include us on the planet we're sitting on, we can see 6 of the 9 planets at one time.

Kinda cool.

That's cool Ed. To many clouds here to see it.
