I haven’t been there for a few months, but have had some great days there. Mostly catching strippers on a silver bass assassin twitch bait. Fishing the grass edges. Keep an eye open for them chasing bait fish, and throw one in.
It can get very windy so be careful.

Are you bank fishing or from your boat?
I have a Bass Tracker... you're right, the wind can make it tricky.
Thanks for the heads up.

I have a little inflatable with trolling motor. I generally start on the west side by where the power lines cross, and work my way up towards the dam. Keeping to the edge of the grass. As I mentioned before, keep your eye out for the baitfish jumping. Also the birds diving down on them. Mostly lots of smaller fish 18"-20". Good luck. Hope to get down there soon again myself.

I’ve fished it several times. Manly from shore. Fished the dam at San Luis a lot before they closed it to walk in fishing. Caught several stripers in the 12-14 lb class soaking anchovies and throwing big plugs mainly 7” rapalas at night. change to two bigger hooks instead of three they bend the ones that come on the lures. Also got some on hell raiser jigs near the brIdge at O’Neal and same other baits at O’Neal. The bite can get hot right at first light. So be there early.

When I was a kid, this was some of the best striper fishing I ever did with my grandfather this fishery can be the most hot and cold fishery I’ve ever been out in my life there were days we caught 120 stripers and then I would go fish it for two days and nothing fish the Forebee with the white hair razor and the lake with cut bait when it’s on it’s on you won’t have a better time if you get them
