At least the water isn't frozen, so it is close.

Good lord how do y’all deal with that cold!! It’s 49 here in Port Aransas, Texas and the wind is gusting to 38 and we feel like were freezing our tails off. And nobody in town has any gas for their home or businesses. Lost gas supply and pressure yesterday around 2:30 pm. We’re being told the gas company has to turn off every meter in town so the system can be pressured back up. They are estimating sometime tomorrow pm. It’s spring break here and very few if any restaurants can serve customers. Friday night and Saturday night are peak times for restaurants. Like my mama always said “It’s always something” 😎👍

Uh OH. Sounds like a hassle. I do NOT want Natural Gas unless out camping with Propane. Solar System will keep you warm. What a bummer. There is a way to run Natural Gas Appliances on Propane then you could have heat and able to cook during the shut-off periods. There must be a leak and then the town could blow up. Another option is use Camping gear in well ventilated area to cook. Stay Warm buddy.

Thanks Jeremy. We’re fortunate enough to be able to heat the house with our mini splits. We’re pretty comfortable. This is the opposite of what happened two years ago. Then we lost all electric power as did most of Texas because of our lame Texas only electrical grid going down. We could only use our gas cook stove for heat. Power was lost for over 50 hours. Temperature in our house stay constantly at 53 degrees. I’m sure there will be more of this happening in the future. Thanks again

Desperately trying to get my boat ready for a little better weather. About 2/3's finished rewiring the entire boat after installing a new motor. Guess where my tax return went? lol

I agree with Lame sir. I have read up on it all. Sad situation there to say the least. I am glad you have what is needed to stay warm. One other thing that is doable is to add an isolated Generator. Can have it set up to run on Gasoline, Diesel, Biofuels or Natural Gas. If and when the lame grid fails then an electromagnetic relay shuts off but then activates the Generator to make Electricity. I have made and maintained electrical Relay set ups for this type of quick switch. Mobile Vehicles or Stationery type Generators that are called Grid-Tie.

Stay Warm.

It's been time if you know when they cool the turbine's that keeps water 70° year round. Channel catfish and Crappie are very aggressive here, just got to stay off the rock's. We've had a very mild winter.

Thanks again Jeremy, we’re on day 5 without gas. The gas company yesterday started turning meters back on. They started with restaurants and other businesses first. Per my wife’s Facebook, there’s still hundreds of homes in town without gas.
In regards to thought on a generator, it’s been on my mind since we were hit by hurricane Harvey over five years ago. We put our house on the market and have a contract on it at this time so there’s a good chance we will be moving out of Port Aransas in the near future. So installing a generator isn’t an option. Thanks again for your concern.
Have a great day😎👍
