You always know whos gonna when the club tournaments when you see the boat that starts dipping out the big mouths instead of spots we call them. And you can bet there tight lipped.i would consider myself a lake veteran after fishing russell for near 35 years now . I can walk out front door and within 4 min pull up at my favorite ramp on the savannah. Its not beyond reach as weve done a few times and to catch well over a 100 spots in a morning and afternoon combined. Listen im not special everybody probably catching them like that from what ive seen. February and march we tend to run up on a few big mouths but after that, for the life of cant figure them out. Granted sure i can go deep and drop a big worm down 20 and 30 ft beside timber and get a few good thumps but nothing ever consistent. Its time, whos got the secret to pass on???

Welcome to the stage fishingpurdy. Sorry I can't help you sounds like this spotted bass has taken over the Savannah river. If no one is helping to thin them out they will continue to multiply. I'd talk to local bait shops to see if large mouth are hitting on anything. Good luck with your fishing and share pics when you can 🤪

My brother and I were able to catch stripers and largemouths on minnows.
