Discussion on "Trolling Reel"

Professional industrial designers spent a lot of time designing this "Trolling Reel", which looks like a spaceship, but it is a Trolling Reel suitable for fishing big fish, especially tuna fishing.

Doug... When I read "this" in reference to something, it's always nice to have a view or at least a more detailed description. Let's not play play with semantics, huh ?

Gotta go with Nutz on thus one. I'm n really curious to see what this thing looks like. I know what a Penn Ssnator looks like, this is evidently different.

the other good thing about this reel it is virtually invisible so it doesn't get stolen but it does make rigging it up a little difficult hard to tell which end faces up

It now looks like he's just yankin' our junk, and having a good laugh, like we do pretty often around here. Maybe he's bored.

Yeah, maybe. But since I don't fish for Tuna I don't have any reels I could compare it with anyway.

I want no part of tuna fishing, that's a young man's game. Had a 370+# tuna nearly beat me to death in my 30's, and I was in great shape. Felt like I had hooked a race horse. Brute strength and blinding speed, almost beyond belief. Never would have boated it without the fighting chair. I was done for the rest if the trip. There are some huge tuna off of Montauk in the summer.
Takes a good charter Captain with a big boat, stout gear, lots of physical strength, and lotsa $$$'s to get into that.

Off Montauk, they are oribably bluefin, also known as giant tuna. The run much larger than yellowfin and blackfin.

Flytier : It's a really great big fish area, big Blue & Mako sharks, Tuna, even the Bluefish out there are monsters. My group even took turns fighting a biga$$ Swordfish on one trip.
That place is a goldmine for angling !
