Hi Everyone! I am Stan Westfall, 66, in NC and handicapped due to a spinal injury in 2015. I get around via an electric power chair. My fiancée is from Florida and coming to get me soon. We are open to moving anywhere to Florida except the panhandle and the keys. We will definitely be getting a pontoon or tritoon so will be only looking for freshwater lake property. We are looking at 21 to 24 foot boats and we will use it for just relaxing some days and fishing some days. Of course it would have to be modified to accommodate my power chair being the captain's chair. If any of you have had to have special mods done to your boat, I would love to hear from you! Happy Fishing!

Yeah, I have been marking different homes as favorites in the real estate app I am using. My fiancée has a 13 year old son who has never had a father and he wants me to take him fishing. I fished some in my younger years but not at all the last 20 or so so I have lots to learn too. I just want my new son to have good memories after I am gone. Message me anytime and thanks for the tip!

I have a bass boat so that is really no help i think the best boat for you is a pontoon boat they have a open gate at the bow and most of the seats are removable so you should be able use your power chain and drive right up to the captain spot to drive the boat and have power trolling motor just push a bottom and you can get power achors on the back and push another button but remeber ever thing cost Break Out Another Thousand that how we spell boat.
Tight lines Hope to see you on the water.

Hi Rolling Stan, we just vacation in Florida for a few of the Spring months but last year got introduced to the St. Johns River near Sanford where it dumps into then out of the lake there. That river on either side of the lake has large lily pads on both sides that just scream bass. I hooked into one in the river that fought for close to 5 minutes that couldn't get off the bottom. He finally made a run to the boat and under and mepps pulled out. The river is over 200+ miles long and runs NORTH from the Glades to Jacksonville. Along the way there are a lot of lakes that it feeds into and out of. If you haven't chosen a particular spot in Fla. I would encourage checking the places along or near the river or its many lakes. Some of the biggest bass in Fla are caught in the St Johns River or its many lakes. Good luck in your search and glad you can get around and seem to have a great attitude despite having some issues. All the best to you and family.

Welcome RollnStan! Well it's about time you got around to moving here. Make sure you pick up a can of Florida Sunshine at Stuckeys when you cross over, that will make your residency Official (a former high school classmate of mine in Pompano Beach FL marketed that item many years ago). Some of us Semi-Native Floridians grew up here by blessed accident and kept quiet about it so all the folks we left in NJ would feel sorry that we got stuck here. How unfortunate (HA HA HA HA HA HA HA) oops!
