Hey Rich. We went out on the Pet all morning and we never got a bite. Trolled most of the time and even soaked bait for a little while. Still nothing. OH well, had a nice time and enjoyed just getting out.

Oh well, I guess that’s why they call it fishing not catching! At least you got out on the water. You’ll get them next time!! How was the river, still high and muddy?

It wasn't TOO bad. It's always muddy but there wasn't SO much stuff floatin down and we were able to troll fairly well without getting fouled up too often.
Water temp was only 48* so it's pretty cold still.

Yeah Fred. Same area as the last time too, the Petaluma river.
Right now it's just a tough time of year to be fishin our here. The water was only 48* today too.

Now that the weather has settled down, hopefully they will be chowing down soon.

Skunk is in the air Steve. Me and my son went to Clear Lake and didn't even get a bite. Water temp was colder than I expected and as we talked to guys practicing for a big tournament learned the North Lake was dead zone. Big schools of fish at the narrows waiting for conditions to improve in the North. It was great to get out and the lake is only 3 ft from being full. All the launch ramps are open. Just another reminder why I don't fish much for bass in Dec and Jan. Going to give the Stripers a shot next week. I'll shoot you a PM when I know what day.

Bringing back some memories! My brothers and I used to ride our bikes to Phoenix Lake from where we lived in Kentfield and fish for trout there. Once in a while, we'd get a bluegill, too. Mostly on the old Pautzke's Balls of Fireball salmon eggs, and occasional worms we'd dig up.) When we got older we would make the hike from Phoenix Lake up that fire road to Bon Tempe and Lake Lagunitas and fish them, too. I remember that it was quite a hike.

Great memories!

my brother and I would do the same. Take our bikes on the ferry and then ride up to the lakes. Fish all day and ride back to the ferry. Always used the green label eggs!
Didn’t mater really if we caught fish , it was the adventure. Bon Tempe was always our favorite lake. Heading back up there this Wednesday. Makes it alot easier driving!!! Different times back then!
