Bringing back some memories! My brothers and I used to ride our bikes to Phoenix Lake from where we lived in Kentfield and fish for trout there. Once in a while, we'd get a bluegill, too. Mostly on the old Pautzke's Balls of Fireball salmon eggs, and occasional worms we'd dig up.) When we got older we would make the hike from Phoenix Lake up that fire road to Bon Tempe and Lake Lagunitas and fish them, too. I remember that it was quite a hike.
Great memories!
my brother and I would do the same. Take our bikes on the ferry and then ride up to the lakes. Fish all day and ride back to the ferry. Always used the green label eggs!
Didn’t mater really if we caught fish , it was the adventure. Bon Tempe was always our favorite lake. Heading back up there this Wednesday. Makes it alot easier driving!!! Different times back then!
