Howdy all I'm a loyal US Patriot wanting to buy fishing equipment, lures, lines ect that are made right here in the good old US of A.
I'd rather pay the extra money to support American business rather than someone who just wants to give us the business. If you get my drift
On another thread there was talk about Fenwick and St croix rods being made in America. I wish to know more products made here.
I've noticed that some places say assembled in the United States. That means cheap foreign parts sent here and and put together.
Buffalo Chips! I want the whole shabang made in America by Americans. Be it big business or a mom and pop shop, if they fly the Stars and Stripes and stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, with hand over heart they will have my hard earned dollars.

That's very commendable CB, but extremely hard to do. Even St Croix, (which I like and just bought my 3rd), only makes the 3 or 4 most expensive series in the USA. The 3 or 4 more affordable series are made in Mexico. The majority of lure manufacturers now make their products overseas, because most people want to spend $4-10 per lure, and not $18-185 each. Most of us can't afford to be that patriotic, even though we would like to be. Good luck in your quest.

Yeah Redfish I have the same problem. I'm retired now so my income is less than 1/2 of what I was earning. I look at made in labels. If I can't buy American then I will opt for a US Allie. If that's not an option, and I need it now, I'll say Shozbot and purchase it, but will forgo the beans and rice for dinner.

All of Berkeley's Trilene line, mono and fluoro are made here, as is Powerpro braid. It's a start anyway.

You just gave me a wonderful idea 💡
Hey Mom and Pop Shops if you have a fishing related items that you, yourself make, post it here
If your in need of a item that maybe someone needs post it here.
I'll kick it off. I'm looking for 1/4 or larger ounce jig heads with soft wire hooks for Sauger fishing in a rocky bottom river It usually runs fairly slow, except after a rain then it really gets going
It's the Wabash River in W Lafayette Indiana. I'll fish the Lafayette side on occasion but it's way more polluted. Especially after a rain.
👍 Thanks for the great idea. Plumbob!

Commander: A worthwhile idea. As far as custom rods, I would expect there are folks in your area who do this. I know they exist in the Houston area. I have even taught myself how to build a custom rod. The biggest hurdle is finding the right rod blank to start with.

Reels and lures are a different story. Bomber Bait which I have some familiarity are made in Mexico by injection molding. So you will have to dig a little to get the 'skinny' on where and what quality. I do admire your desired attempt to 'buy American'. Just Sayin...RJS

You are welcome Commander. If nothing happens here on this thread you may want to start another with a catchy Topic title.

Something like " Looking for home made rod builder " and another " Looking for lure makers " Just a thought i think you get where I am coming from.

I know of 2 Rod builders here on the stage, I will reference your thread to them.

Native Americans would be fantastic, as I am one of them. I am 1/2 Seneca. Buying from my Native Cousins would be extra special.
When I was dating the woman, who would later become my wife, she told me her ancestors came over on the mayflower ( the Bradfords) I told her congratulations my ancestors were here to greet them.

Best of Luck Commander, it will most definitely will be a post that would be worth keeping an eye on.

That American Made by a fellow user here on the stage would raise some eyebrows.

Look for the new thread to come out tomorrow. I'll be working security at Purdue University for Fox Sports covering Sunday's game. I'll be sitting at a desk checking credentials. In other words 10 hours of trying to stay awake.
