Went ultralight jigging in a 40 degree Central Jersey lake this afternoon after a rain storm and during a nor’wester gale watch. Air temp was also 40. Saw 11 fishermen catch crappies and perch while ultralight jigging. The lake was a muddy flood with current because of the flood water release. I caught and released 21 white perch, a largemouth bass and white sucker with Walmart red worm halves on two gold hooks and a 1/32 oz unpainted leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Landed 619 fish 🐟 in 18 trips to the same spot this year with 3 containers of worms. Three fishermen came to my spot, then fished next to me today. They didn’t catch anything then moved. Tomorrow’s storm may stop my fishing for a day.

Nice bands.
Happy to see the LMB didn't inhale the worm & was an easy release.
I loved catching big suckers in the streams when I fished bait (worms) for trout.
We referred to those rubber-lipped bottom feeders as "Jersey Browns"...
