How’s everyone doing during this Long Winter? I was wondering if anybody ever heard that taking bananas on a boat is bad luck for fishing, we were in St. Thomas on a charter boat and we packed a few sandwiches and we had bananas also. Well the captain had a fit about bananas on his boat about it brings very bad luck, I never heard that in all my fishing days. Did any of you ever hear about that ? Tight lines to all.

yep heard it and several guides won't allow bananas on their boats. I guess if you are superstitious it is like a reverse mental placebo you expect bad luck and sure and behold you get it, but if they didn't fear it and expect bad luck nothing would happed.of course we all know the banana was the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden because it is the fruit that can cause you to slip up and fall

It’s an old fisherman’s tale. Heard it many times. Story is, if u want to get skunked bring a banana aboard. They’re not allowed on my boat. Don’t want to upset the fishing gods!!!

Fish 1 I know about it but never worried about it. My boat my menu 🤣. I don't worry about black cats broken mirrors or stepping on cracks. To each his own 👍🎣

Did you catch fish? I was never a slave to superstition.

There’s a guide in Oregon that doesn’t believe it. He has been known to troll with one and catch a salmon. Just to debunk the myth.

I've heard it for years. I don't particularly care for bananas unless it's in a banana split.😊👍
No bananas on the boat.😯👎

Saw I will admit I enjoy my banana splits 👍. I eat a banana most mornings. Yesterday after I got my eggs outa the pan I cut up a Nanna put it in the pan sprinkled cinnamon sugar on it. First time I did that. Wasn't bad brother 🤣

I bought a 12 foot 4x6 and had them cut it in half. Came home and put them both under the cracked area. Bout 19+ inches from outside to outside.
They are both on a 2x4 that is 33+ inches.
I wedged them both in pretty good.
I think it will be OK for the rest of the winter.
Come summer I'll fix it permanently. 👍
