Good morning, Kimmie, and welcome to the Stage. I'm sorry, I have never fished in KY, and the only catfish and bass that I have caught have been by accident while fishing for walleye. 🎣🎣🎣🎣

Just hang on Kimmie, we might have someone in your area. You can do a search of the member list by location, and use a private message to communicate. Orr just check in at a local tacklee/bait shop.

Welcome to the stage Kimmie Lee. Sorry I can't help you. I'd get ahold of the local bait shop and chat with them. I usually use nightcrawlers or chicken liver for catfish.
Good luck an share your pics 👍

Welcome to the forum. I've never fished that state, but fish will be fish and they all get hungry. You might try hanging out at the lauch area and ask what they used to catch. Catfish is easy...........anything smelly. I use crawfish, chicken hearts, worms, small fish, even caught them on spinners. Bass is caught on most bass lures. If you fish out of a boat, 'noodles' or a set line with several hooks would be a great way to catch catfish, if legal in your area.

Welcome, Kimmie! I have a daughter that worked in Paintsville, but switched jobs and works out of Pikeville now. She lives in Prestonsburg, so you two are somewhat near each other.

Hello Kimmie, welcome to the stage. See you are in Eastern KY. Don't know how far you're willing to travel but there are two large bodies of water relatively near you. East Lynn Lake is Northeast of you. Good place for both catfish and bass. I've personally only fished it once so I can't tell you much about fishing spots and the like. Maybe there are others on here that have and will chime in. If not, I suggest you Google Bait shops and marinas on and around the lake and give then a call with any questions. I've always found them willing to help. The other place is Cave Run Lake and it is due West of you near Morehead, KY. I fish it at least two or three times every year. It is the Muskie Capital of the World. Plenty of places to fish from the bank and plenty of places to put in a boat. Great fishery that has every species in abundant numbers. I stay at Cave Run Lodge. Great people and they will treat you like family. Good luck and keep your lines tight.
