Kastking
Anyone have any experience with them ? Pros and cons . My 11yr old son is looking at their bait caster reels , just trying to get some info on them . Thanks
I think it depends on the modal that your son is looking at and I have heard some good and some bad about them at least about their bait casting reels. Their spinning reels should not be much of a problem as there are not as many things to go wrong with a spinning reel but ask around others might now a bit more.

Mornin' Max, Check out the posts from yesterday, this Ron guy had a post recommending different spinning reels. I'm sure there are some recommendations for bait cast reels around someplace too. I think he had one a couple of days ago, use the search button above. Have a good day! Are you sure you want to get your 11 Y/O son a bait cast reel? Does he have a spinning/spin-cast reel now?
Fly guy he is dead set on a bait caster , he’s buying it him self . I’ve tried talking him out of more than once . Thanks for the info

You are welcome, Max. I hope he proves us wrong. Keep us posted on how this goes.
Bass Pro has the Pro Qualifier @ on sale right now at a VERY GOOD PRICE for the quality your getting. Don't buy a piece of junk you'll regret it. This reel is a very good starter .
I have both baitcasters and spinning in several ratios. No problems. Check out their you tube videos. They claim quality at "affordable" prices. You can only buy on their .com or Amazon.
I had one of their junk spinning reels. Fished with it once and learned my lesson. Also have a friend that bought their braid line....also junk.
I don't know about the Brand, I do know that Bait casters are the way to go. Sounds like a smart kid to me.
l have four KastKing bait baitcasters and they cast further add smoother than my Shimanos
I have 3 Baitcaster and 2 spinning reels . Owning a dozen high dollar Shimano s , I found the Kastkings as good value . Not quite as smooth as a 400 buck Shimano but I could have bough 8 Kastkings for that price . The spinning rod and reel combos were also of good value , the rod is not a Loomis RNX but again it was way less than 550 bucks . Personally , I can afford to buy what I want but the Kastkings product seem to be very functional. I would not be afraid to recommend their products . They are not junk.
I have always been told Kast King reels are junk. So I never bought any of their stuff. However, for about $100 one can get an Abu Garcia veritos rod or BassPro carbonlite, both very light and strong, and for another $150 you can have an excellent reel to finish out the set. This set if properly maintained should last until he is grown. Try to resist the urge to buy cheap, they don't last.

For starters, the ABU Garcia Black or Silver Max are great reels. Economical and perform well. (I may be that "Ron guy".)

I have two bait casting reels from China and they're very good. I had my doubts at first. You know the saying, you get what you paid for. But was I surprised. Does everything I expect from a reel. Smooth
casting and decent drag function. Fourteen ball bearings. Fits in my hand nicely.
I brought them though "Alibaba", Asian version of Amazon but even cheaper since there is no middleman.
My grandkids uses these with no problem. Don't worry your son is young. He will upgrade when the time comes.
I have a few of the KastKing reels if you buy one get the KastKing Assassin to me this was the best but you need to take it apart and lube it because I have found they do not like to put enough lube on the reels.
