Hi I am Mellon from east coast central Florida. I have fished inland and off shore all my life and I am 75. I have started replacing a bunch of guides on my rods. It is fun and can be difficult if you want. I have recently discovered shark is a good eating fish.
Tight lines.

Welcome Mellon, I knew there is some good fishing down there. Do you have a shark fishing tale to share?

I normally fish a seven foot rod with a 4000 penn reel with 15 pound test. Bait is generally dead shrimp. I was fishing from a dock into lagoon not channel. Something yanked my rod and banged it against a 4x4 on the dock. I grabbed the rod and line was peeling off the reel going south. I pulled as hard as I could but it kept going south. I dared to tighten the drag and things slowed down. The line went dead slack. I saw a fin just east of me. I reeled as fast and hard as I could. Old shark wanted to go north and started peeling line again. A school of mullet went bananas and he kept going. We went back and forth several times and finally my buddy showed up. We got him to the dock. He had a net and I had the rod. Together we got him on the dock. I collapsed on some grass a that was a fight. Hope to do it again. This was before our new law.

Million, what city do you live ? I use to live in Titusville for 12 years and fished the Indian River as well as offshore. Now live in Leesburg, Fl on Lake Griffin which is part of the Harris Chain of lakes. Perhaps we can hook up some day and fish both areas.

Vero is nice. I have a 22' Hurricane deck boat with a 150 hp yamaha. I fish for bass and occasionally crappie. Do you ever get over this way?

I thought that area was horse country. I have not been there in 15 years. I remember a large lake. I bet crappie are good with deep clear cold water. We caught them on minnows. The deck boat sounds very nice.

Leesburg is a nice place to live and fish and about 15 min from THE VILLAGES, the largest retirement community in the world. Population 125000 and growing with 675 holes of golf.

Hi
Anything at Conky Joes. I love the fight of a black drum or large sting ray. An acrobatic snook is great.
